A few people have been asking what exactly we’re up to, so here is everything we have going on right now through the end of the year (and possibly the end of the band). (Try not to cry.)

We’re going on tour next week, up the east coast, then over to the midwest and back down through the southeast. While we’re out, we’re going to stop in New York for a few days to record a new LP at The Civil Defense with our good friend and Gainesville expatriate Jeremy Scott. The record is going to be called “Magic Words.” It’s ten songs and it’ll be out in the fall on No Idea. We’re all really excited about this thing. It’s been three years since we recorded anything, and we think these songs are way better than anything we’ve done before. Of course, every band ever thinks that about all their new songs all the time, so we’ll see if we’re correct enough that anybody will actually notice.

Okay, so this is where it gets tricky. When we get back from tour, Joey is moving to Arizona and I’m moving to California. The plan is to have the record out in time for the Fest at the end of October, so Joey and I will fly back for that and then we’ll all fly back to the west coast for a tour in November. Plans after that are a little dicey, because that’s a lot of flying around for us. We’re not ruling anything out, but the west coast tour is about as far as the plan goes for right now.

Meanwhile, Dru has just started playing drums again in the excellent Former Humans, and Patrick and I have a second 7” coming out with Nervous Dogs pretty soon. Patrick’s also playing guitar in Holopaw, and they have a new record coming out sometime this year as well. Joey doesn’t play music with anybody else because nobody except us can deal with him.
